Mini MAC Haul

IMG_20170603_210924_004

I cannot believe we are quickly approaching my favorite season already! Summer! I was so exited for this years summer fruity juicy collection from MAC cosmetics. I headed to the MAC counter the second day the collection launched, and boy was I too late! The only item I was able to score was the Pearlmatte Face Powder. Since I was already there I picked up some more items along the way

IMG_20170603_211007

MAC Pearlmatte Face Powder: I only had the chance to use this product once. However, based on the packaging alone I am already obsessed with it!

20170603_211256

I can never get enough MAC lippies. They are affordable, and  I always go back to MAC after all the years of experimenting with high end and drug store lipsticks. MAC lipsticks are worth the buy! This shade is a nude brown from the Liptensity collection. It is pretty moisturizing as well.  I tend to stick to nude lip hues because they compliment any makeup look. This shade that I recently purchased is called “Doe.”

I purchased these MAC lashes for an event I had to go to. However, I don’t feel that it is worth the heavy price tag of $18.  I’ve worn the Lashes once already in this photo. I will try to get more usages out of them for this price! 😉

Another MAC Lippie. This shade is called “Velvet Teddy” It looks orange in the photo, but it is more on the neutral side. Because this lipstick is a matte one, it tends to dry out my lips very quickly, so I make sure to always use a lip balm before applying. Love the look of this matte lipstick but not the way it feels.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. I apologize I haven’t been as consistent as I hoped to be. I’d love to know what are some of your favorite products from MAC!

May Beauty Haul

IMG_20170512_220554_902.jpg

Hello lovelies,

I just wanted to share some of my favorite beauty products from May.  For this month’s shopping haul, I picked up a bit of everything from makeup and skincare to hair products; I needed to restock for my beauty pantry!

The Hair:

Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Conditioner: I’ve tried this shampoo and conditioner once before, and it’s helped my hair on its journey to recovery. I tend to run out of conditioner first, which is why I didn’t pick up the shampoo as well. Joico’s K-Pak is supposed to repair damaged hair and is safe to use on color treated hair. I picked mine up at Ulta when they had a sale.

OGX Quick Drying Thermal Spray: I also picked up this heat protecting spray from Ulta. I have never tried this brand before, so I am pretty excited. I do love the way this product smells!

So hurry to Ulta now for their gorgeous hair event (I am not sponsored, haha!) Going on now until the the beginning  of June!

Makeup:

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Trio: Highlight and strobe your cheekbones with these three beautiful shades: Pyrite, Oasis, and Twilight. I tend to love everything from Urban Decay, and I have been wanting it for awhile so I had to purchase this!

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray Mini: I have the large size that I use quite often, but I wanted one to be able to put in my makeup bag and have with me on the go!

20170512_122746

Skincare:

Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner: I purchased the large size of the toner because I tend to go through them rather quickly, so this would save me time and money in the long run. I love all of the toners from Kiehl’s.

Micellar Cleansing Water by Jean Pierre Travel Size: This was my first time purchasing this product. What caught my attention was the cute packaging! I purchased this at Ulta beauty, and I had brought this with me on my road trip. I gotta say, I love it! I will definitely be picking up the full-size soon! It was gentle on my skin and removed all of my makeup!

Road Trippin: My Travel Diary

1493975299782

I recently just got back from an amazing road trip from Los Angeles to Utah and then Colorado. The drive there was extremely long, but the scenery was so breathtakingly beautiful it made up for it.

20170501_124851.jpg

The first place I went to in Utah was Moab to hike in Arches National Park. It was very hot and sunny (which I love), so I decided to take the easy trail and just enjoy the view. After Moab and the hike, I went to have dinner at Sunset Grill, which was a cute place that sat over a hill with amazing views all around. Another nice feature about this restaurant was the free shuttle service that can pick you up at your hotel and drop you off after your meal.

Yummy tuna steak

The next morning after the hike I was feeling dehydrated (I never drink water, so bad I know). It was extremely crucial to stay hydrated, especially being so high up in the hills! I needed some TLC and pampering, so I went into town and found a cute little nail shop: Lee Nails. I got my gel nails filled, and the staff was extremely sweet. We talked about the latest nail trends and what restaurants were worth trying and where to find good coffee. I had a wonderful time, and for a minute I felt like I was home in LA again. After a little pampering and feeding my belly, I headed to see the Moab Giants.  It was really interesting to see all of the dinosaur replicas throughout the park and learn about the different type of fossils that were discovered here. They also had a cool 5D guided tour that was fun and informative. I would highly recommend checking out the Peleo Aquarium!

20170501_142609.jpg

The next day was Norwood Colorado. The drive from Utah to Colorado by far was the most beautiful yet scariest drive ever! The mountain roads were winding, and it was important to obey all the traffic signs since there was construction work. Being in the Rocky Mountains made me feel so small, but it gave me a sense of calm – there is so much beauty in the world that has yet to been explored.

IMG_20170503_225513_626

My hair is the same color as the cow (must be the sun, hehe)

When I arrived in Norwood I was so shocked to see that the population was only 500. There were no neighbors within miles! Norwood had a lot of wild life. I was so happy to see the wild elk, deer, blue jays, and Canadian geese. After Norwood I went to Telluride to check out the cool little ski town. It was off season while I was there so not many shops were open, but it was still very interesting to learn about how Telluride became the town it is today from its early days as a mining town… and to see all of the snow of course!

IMG_20170503_163628_740.jpg

This was my first road trip, and I don’t know why I never went sooner! Looking forward to my next vacation already. Until next time…

Extreme Green Smoothie

When I am on the go and don’t have time for a snack or meal, I like to whip up a quick, easy, and nutritious green smoothie.

Image result for green smoothie

All you need is a greens-based smoothie powder, like Amazing Grass’s Green Superfood. I love this green powder so much! It contains a blend of organic greens such as spinach, wheat grass, spirulina, and broccoli, and it also has a blend of fruits including acai.

20170507_203017

Toasted Coconut Almondmilk

  • One scoop of Green Superfood
  • Milk or almond/coconut alternative (I prefer Califia Farm’s Coconut Almond Milk blend)
  • One banana
  • Handful of baby kale or spinach (whatever fresh greens I have)
  • A drizzle of agave

Just blend and enjoy!

Smile Tag

My first tag! Thanks for the tag!

Here’s how it works…

Ciarralorren, creator of The SMILE Tag, wants to see your smiles! If you are nominated for this tag (which I hope all of you are), then simply post a photo of yourself smiling! There really are no rules for this tag. You can post as many pictures with as many people as you’d like, solely under the condition that you are smiling in the photo or looking back at the photo makes you smile! It’s really quite simple. If you’d like, also share the story or stories behind the photos you post to let your followers gain more of an insight of who you are and what makes you happy. Or don’t! It’s really up to you! Truthfully, it doesn’t matter how you interpret this tag, so long as you spread joy and happiness around the Internet and in doing so within your own life. Let’s all be happy and share our smiles! Thank you, Laura, for tagging me!

FB_IMG_1494008343381

This is by far one of my favorite moments that made me smile. Mariah Carey has always been my favorite singer and person on this planet (haha)! My sister (left) pulled some strings and took me to see Mariah receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was amazing and I had such a wonderful time! Love you big sis!

20170505_104056

I wanted to share this picture because obviously I was smiling, but this picture was taken a few days before I started blogging again.  I had dinner at a cute Italian place in Brentwood with my friend and her son. Over Fritto Mistos and a glass of Prosecco I told her that I needed a creative outlet of some sort, and we then came to a conclusion that I should start blogging again. Thank you, Sandra! ❤

EverydaySachet, Victoria, and Sarah. I’m nominating you ladies!

My Skin Care Routine

Love the skin you’re in. As a little girl my mother often told me how important it was to take care of my skin. I’ve suffered from eczema and sensitive skin for most of my life, and thankfully as I grew up it slowly went away. My skin care routine is pretty simple and here it is!

To remove my makeup I often like to use baby oil because it is very moisturizing and gentle. It also helps remove any waterproof makeup or stubborn lash glue residue.

JOHNSON’S® baby Oil

My favorite thing to use for my facial cleanser in the morning and at night is Cetaphil. I pretty much love Cetaphil and have been using their products my whole life. Whether it is for face or body, I use this brand. I think this is what partially cured my eczema. I couldn’t live without it!

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, 16.0 FL OZ

After I wash my face, I love to tone my face with a toner from Kiehl’s. I’ve tried all of their toners, but my all time favorite from them would have to be the Ultra facial toner. It is mild and moisturizing.  It doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals, alcohol, or fragrance that will irritate my skin.

Ultra Facial Toner

For my moisturizer, which I am always switching up and trying different ones, I am currently using the Skin Signature Melting Rich Cream from SK-II.

Every once in awhile when I have some down time, I like to apply a face mask. A current favorite at the moment would be from an Asian skin care line called Tony and Molly, which I happen to have found at Urban Outfitters.

I would love to know what are some of your favorite skin care products as well! 🙂

Doesn’t makeup always look better when someone else does it for you? Okay, not always. I just wanted to share an eye shadow look that my super-talented hair dresser and friend did for me the other day. I will insert her Youtube channel here whenever she decides to start filming again!

20170423_14140520170423_141357She created a cut-crease eye shadow look using her Too Faced Natural Love makeup palette.

Can we talk about how beautiful the packaging is?? I love Too Faced cosmetics for their amazing products and cute and girly packaging.

20170423_14143120170423_141501She also gave me an amazing highlight using the Too Faced Love Light highlighter, which I am obsessed with and just might need to purchase soon! And lastly, she set my makeup with this setting spray from Skindinavia.

Teddy Bear Toast

Happy Monday!

Nothing makes Monday mornings harder than realizing it’s only Monday! This morning before I left for work, I decided to whip up my normal breakfast with a twist. I turned my sunflower toast into a cute teddy bear toast. I like to make sunflower toast in the mornings for breakfast or as a snack because it is fairly healthy, quick, and easy. Did mention it’s really yummy? 20170424_081728

To make my simple teddy bear toast:

  • Slice of toasted wheat bread
  • Sunflower spread for the face
  • Slices of bananas for the nose and ears
  • Blueberries for the eyes
  • Hemp seeds for extra flair and flavor

Enjoy!

The 1940’s Look

20170422_202809

Hello, world, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent my Saturday at my cousin’s Fabulous 40’s themed birthday party. When I got the invite I automatically knew what dress I always wanted to wear, but to me the 1940’s were not so glamorous since makeup was scarce and bright, bold red lips just isn’t me. Still I managed to pull through and had fun with it!

My 1940’s vintage dress:

IMG_20170422_153724_588

The Dress: My beautiful true, blue vintage 1940’s dress was given to me from an older friend. It belonged to someone in her family. Now here it is, I can finally wear it. At first I was hesitant to wear it because I was sure that most of the guests at the speakeasy were not going to be in the 1940’s theme. Or if they were, they weren’t going to be wearing a full on costume! It made me think of the scene from Mean Girls when it was time for the Halloween party and Lindsey Lohan shows up wearing a scary bridezilla costume and all the other girls were wearing sexy lingerie with some form of animal ears! Girl world Vs Real world. Well, I chose real world.

The Hair: 1940’s were all about the victory rolls. Those Youtube girls really make them seem so easy! For me, they were anything but that; but I manged to somehow make a roll or two. They sure were anything but victory, haha! The girls back then didn’t seem to have long hair, but I curled all of my hair, brushed out the curls to create the waves, teased, and rolled it out the best I could!

Snapchat-1951353723

My victory rolls ended up looking like Maleficent as the night progressed (lol).

The Makeup:

Lips: For my red lips I used a matte lipstick from Smashbox cosmetics. It was the only red lip color I own that came in the Light It Up lipstick and mattifier set that given to me for my birthday. The shade is called “Be Legendary.”

20170422_151107

Eyes: For my eye shadow I used my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. Although shimmer wasn’t the appropriate look at the times for eyes, I wanted to use something natural and smooth that popped (it is a party after all!), and the naked palette did just that. The shades I used were “Dust” and “Nooner.”

20170422_152032

Face: I primed my face with the Chanel primer and used my Chanel foundation that are in my Everyday Makeup post. For my cheeks I used the Hoola bronzer from Benefit cosmetics to contour my cheeks a bit, and I added a pop of color using the Mariah Carey blush collection for MAC in the shade “You Got Me Feeling.”
